In what E! News has said to be biggest episode of "Outlander," which is Episode 16, "To Ransom a Man's Soul," and will air this Saturday at 9 p.m. on Starz, fans can expect this season finale to feature some of the most disturbing scenes of the season, and on television.

There has been a lot of flack in the news regarding the rape scenes depicted on not only "Outlander" but also on HBO's "Game of Thrones." On that show's last episode, the rape of the young bride by her brutish husband, according to The Salt Lake Tribune, mostly played out offscreen. But the reaction from some viewers and even Sen. Claire McCaskill from Missouri was very negative. The senator even tweeted that the scenes were "gratuitous" and "disgusting," noting that she was "done" with the show.

But if fans are still glued to the show, then E! News says that the scenes that will air this Saturday will make you feel "so intense and all-encompassing, you forget to breathe? You forget it's fiction? You forget to move because you are so paralyzed by rage, disgust, horror, and ultimately, love?"

They have described the episode as some of "TV's darkest material of all time," which comes directly out of Diana Gabaldon's novel series. The material primarily focuses on Jamie's (Sam Heughan) rape and torture by Black Jack Randall (Tobias Menzies). This was an element we saw starting to play out on the last episode of "Outlander" and will make its grand conclusion on the show this Saturday in what is sure to be an explosive finale for the season.

Menzies spoke with E! News about his character Black Jack Randall.

"Jack, I would argue, is a study in sadism," Menzies told E! News. "He's interested in people's boundaries, their pain thresholds, what they can handle. It's a rather sickening investigation."

The Entertainment Weekly "Spoiler Room" revealed that the plan to rescue Jamie will be successful, but it will also come a bit too late. He is so emotionally unstable at that point due to the rape and torture endured at the hands of Randall that he ultimately needs to be rescued from his own mind if he is to ever function as Claire's husband again.
