Icona Pop has been chosen as the main support act for the highly anticipated North American leg of One Direction's "On the Road Again" tour.

The Swedish electro-pop duo took to Twitter account on June 2 to make the exciting announcement.

"We are so thrilled to be joining the One Direction guys on the road this summer and cannot wait to perform our new music in stadiums across America," Caroline Hjelt and Aino Jawo also said in a statement, via Billboard.

The newly four-piece and the "Emergency" singers are scheduled to kick off the 16-city run on June 9 at Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego, California and hit other major cities like Seattle, Washington; Chicago, Illinois; Cleveland, Ohio; and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, before wrapping up on Sept. 12 at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts.

Also, the 1D members are teaming up with Honda Civic for its upcoming trek, following in the footsteps of other bands, including Maroon 5, Paramore and Blink-182: this means that the band will be designing an actual car.
