Fans of "The Vampire Diaries" can expect to see more of Stefan Salvatore's heroic side when the series kicks off Season 7 on The CW this fall.

During an interview with E! News, executive producer Caroline Dries teased that Stefan's "hero hair" will grow at least three sizes next season.

"I'm really excited to see Stefan come into his own and he'll really take to the role of a hero, which will be really cool," she said. "He's always been a hero but I think in a broader sense he'll become more heroic next season."

When asked how series star Nina Dobrev's exit will affect the show in Season 7, actor Paul Wesley, who plays Stefan, admitted that "it's never going to be the same," reports People magazine. "Obviously there's a great nostalgia," he said.

"I have no idea what they're going to do next year, literally. Apparently they have a plan. I don't know what the plan is. It's going to be really interesting. It will be interesting to see what they come up with for the brothers," he added.

Meanwhile, actor Ian Somerhalder opened up to Entertainment Tonight at The CW Upfronts about what's in store for Damon, Stefan and the rest of our Mystic Falls favorites without Elena.

"Our hope for the show is to go back to what originally made people fall in love with the show," he said last month.

"The dark, the sexy, volatile, the unpredictable -- these are all things that we look to encompass that was sort of enveloped in this season of the show," he added.

The 36-year-old actor also promised that fans can expected a "volatile, sexy" season in the fall, that will include some the dark storylines that made the show a hit.

"Stuff that we all fall in love with. Season 1, Season 2 of the show were so dark. It was awesome!" he said.
