Exes Antonio Banderas and Melanie Griffith recently reunited to celebrate their daughter Stella's graduation which took place this past weekend, E! News reports

Banderas and Griffith were married for 18 years, and Stella is the only child that the couple had together. Although it's only been close to a year since their divorce, Banderas and Griffith were all smiles at Stella's graduation ceremony.

Griffith took to Instagram to post photos from the special occasion, and Yahoo! Celebrity notes Griffith sported a bandage on her arm as a cover-up for the tattoo she has of Banderas' name.

Although they are no longer together, Banderas said in a recent interview on "El Hormiguero" while promoting his film "Automata" that he still has love for Griffith.

"Life goes on," Antonio said about the divorce. "I admire and respect Melanie first and foremost as a great actress. I have always said that. That's why she is in the movie. And she's also the person that I loved, that I love, and will always love."

People notes that the plot of Banderas and Griffith's film "Automata," which hit theaters last year, ironically correlates with the story of their own romance and its end.

In a separate interview with Spanish magazine Hola, Banderas addressed the relation of the film to his personal life.

"It's curious because Melanie and I met as actors [on 1995's Two Much], and then for the 20 years of our relationship we didn't shoot together," he said.

He added, "Then, at the end of our relationship, we're back together again on the screen. There is a very curious thing in the movie which I realized when I first saw it. At the end, there's a moment where she tells me 'Goodbye, Jacq Vaucan,' and I say 'Goodbye Cleo,' and that somehow is the close of our relationship."

Since his split from Griffith, Banderas has been romantically linked to Dutch investment consultant Nicole Kimpel.
