Fashion can come at all cost, but $91,500 for a T-shirt is downright shocking!

It's likely that The Awl may have discovered the world's most expensive T-shirt. On Monday, the fashion blog posted a photo of a $91,500 price tag which was attached to a clothing item sold at Hermes on Madison Ave in Manhattan. The item is a black crew-neck men's shirt made out of crocodile skin.

"Literally, the entire shirt is just luxurious, beautifully sewn swaths of crocodile. This makes it possibly rather uncomfortable, and perhaps a little heavy, for a t-shirt," The Awl's Choire Sicha writes.

However, with the $8,000 sales tax, the lavish top is comes close to $100,000.

The crocodile shirt made its debut last fall on the Spring 2013 runway as part of the label's chiffon crocodile shirt line. According to Fashionista, all of the tops from the collection are priced between $60,000 and $100,000, .

PETA objected to the costly item stating that making items out of crocodiles is not humane.

"One of the reasons these products are so cruel is it can take several animals to make one item; it can take three to four crocodiles to make one handbag," said a PETA spokesperson.

PETA also recently attacked Beyonce after she ordered a pair of Perfectly Made Kicks, a high end shoe company that incorporates animal skins into their products. The expensive shoes were made from crocodile, anaconda skins, stingray, ostrich, and calf hair. The animal rights org slammed the global icon for her purchase.

"These custom-made kicks come with a high price and it's paid by the various animals who were beaten and skinned alive or cruelly farmed and killed," PETA said in a statement.

The organization added, "She can always choose the cruelty-free and green fashion favored by compassionate, chic celebrities such as Natalie Portman and Anne Hathaway and designers such as award-winning fashion queen Stella McCartney."
