Real Madrid star Sergio Ramos is in Cuba, but he's not there to play in a soccer game. Instead, he's serving as a UNICEF Ambassador.

The Spanish soccer star landed in Havana, Cuba, on June 16, according to Ciber Cuba.

"I came with UNICEF to take part in the projects they do with children," Ramos said, as he arrived on a flight from Madrid to José Martí International Airport.

The 29-year-old central defender is in Cuba to "exchange views on the work and relations between both parties." Ramos is also there as a goodwill ambassador of the United Nations Fund for Children. Ramos, who participated last year in the campaign "Let's Scare The Ebola," also visited Senegal in 2010 after the World Cup.

This is Ramos' first trip to Cuba and he will stay in the Caribbean country for a few days. Cuba has been interested in the sport of soccer recently but is known as a baseball country.

On his Instagram account, Ramos posted the following pictures from his trip.

Ramos is not the first soccer player to visit the country. His former teammate, Raul Gonzalez, and Brazilian soccer icon Pele visited the island earlier this year.

Ramos, who hasn't sign an extension with Real Madrid, is being targeted by football club Manchester United. According to Managing Madrid, Manchester United is offering him a €27 million contract to play for the team. The British club is trying to wine and dine Ramos to see if he'd be willing to join Manchester United in the near future.

Ramos contract expires with Real Madrid in 2017.
