The Amazon Kindle Paperwhite has long been the premium choice for e-readers on the market, cashing in at the best value and also the best qualities. But now, the best is getting even better, according to PC Magazine.

The Kindle Paperwhite already has a lot of qualities that readers enjoy.

It has the best value on the market at $119. The screen is readable in just about any kind of light, including sunlight. But to top that off, it is directly linked to the largest catalogue of reading materials on the market, with Amazon being a pioneering entity on the emerging and expanding market that makes room for indie authors.

But all those values only add up if the company keeps adding to the package.

That is where the current round of upgrades are fitting into the equation. The upgrade includes a 300 ppi screen and auto-hyphenation. So the picture, or the words, are clearer and the font is more readable and adaptable to your needs.

The previous Kindle Paperwhite only has a 212 ppi screen. For most, that is just fine. But for smaller texts, it can make reading smaller text more difficult. The 300 ppi screen will help that be less restrictive.

These upgrades also make the Paperwhite more competitive and on par with the Kobo Glo HD. The new font, which is called Bookerly, is supposed to make books more readable, but it also may take some getting used to. It has some ligatures and kerning that will need to be adapted before the reader can really nestle in with it.

The automatic hyphenation is another area where the Kindle just gets better. It will be joyous to see how much better it is to have a properly hyphenated page as opposed to awkward line spacing that you historically saw.

CNET repots that this new resolution matches that of the Kindle Voyage, but still keeps the original e-reader's design and shape.

The publication explains that these upgraded Kindle Paperwhites are available for pre-order and will start shipping on June 30 at the same price.
