Esperanza Gómez alleges she could have been in a relationship with Puerto Rican singer Ricky Martin.

In an interview with "Descárate Sin Evadir," Diario Basta reports, Gómez claimed Martin wanted her to be his date for events so that people would think they were a couple. The proposition happened before Martin came out as gay, but Gómez rejected the deal.

Gómez alleged that she would get a contract and a monthly check for a year to pretend to be his girlfriend.

According to Publimetro, she would have received more than $50,000. (At that time, it would have been about 200 million pesos.)

Instead, the Colombian star decided to venture into porn, and she has become one of the most successful stars from Latin America.

Martin revealed in 2010 that he was gay. In 2011, he revealed he was in a relationship with economist Carlos González Abella, but ended the relationship in 2014. These days, Martin has been lobbying for same-sex marriage and doing humanitarian work across the world.

Martin has been in the news recently for his touching letter on fatherhood. He participated in the annual Letters From Dad series. In the letter, Martin explains that he dreamed of being a father and credits his kids for changing his life.

"Above all, my beautiful sons, your love gave me the strength to live an honest life, A life of courage and transparency, which fills me with great pride and peace," he said. "What an amazing gift you have given me, and I'm forever thankful to you."

He continued by telling his sons that he wants them to know a few things, namely that they are truly loved by family and friends, and that they should always be theirselves.

"Don't ever let anyone or anything make you feel like you can't be your true self," he said.
