"Lights Out," a scary two-minute video, has made its way across social media platforms around the world.

It has been picked up as a feature film by modern horror maestro James Wan ("Saw," "The Conjuring," "Insidious"), according to Variety.

In this video, which you can see below, there is a strange occurrence at a woman's home when she turns out the light. You can clearly see the shadow of a person when the light goes out, but when the light gets turned back on, the person is gone, insinuating that he or she only exists in darkness. That is enough for the woman to tape the light switch to the "on" position and then goes to bed with her reading lamp left on.

The video quickly picks up the pace with an ensuing power outage that leads to the real horror of the story, but you'll need to watch the video to find out.

This video has won several awards at short horror festivals, and now, it has caught the attention of one of Hollywood's creepiest minds, James Wan.

Although Variety reports that Wan will not be directing the film, he will be producing it alongside David F. Sandberg as director. Sandberg was the original creator of the short film.

The film will star young Gabriel Bateman ("Stalker") as the main protectorate of his family that is being stalked by a supernatural presence that only reveals itself when the lights are out. The young hero will likely be engaged in the conflict under brave circumstances, dueling in the dark while the lights are out.

Fans might remember Bateman as the young son of Dylan McDermott's character on "Stalker," as well as his recurring role on the TBS show "Your Family or Mine."

There aren't many more details than that in regards to the film plot, but Lawrence Grey and Eric A. Heisserer are set to produce the film alongside Wan. Heisserer will also be penning the script.
