Sarah Palin can't seem to help herself these days: she told Barack Obama, on Martin Luther King Jr. Day no less, that he needs to stop playing the race card!

According to Time Magazine, Sarah Palin took to her Facebook page to make the comment. After posting a line from King's famous "I have a dream" speech, Palin then asked the President to stop playing the race card "in the name of all who are trying to bridge the racial divide."

Needless to say, this did not sit well with the more liberal of the constituency, who felt that Palin's comment, especially on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, was straight up disrespectful.

But according to the President himself, he tends to agree with Palin... somewhat. In an interview with The New Yorker, Obama said that there were plenty of people who didn't like him simply because he was black... but there were also just as many people who gave him the benefit of the doubt for the very same reason.

“There’s no doubt that there’s some folks who just really dislike me because they don’t like the idea of a black President,” Obama said. “There is a historic connection between some of the arguments that we have politically and the history of race in our country, and sometimes it’s hard to disentangle those issues.”

This isn't the first time that the President has been accused of playing the race card. During his initial campaign, John McCain accused Obama of not only playing the race card, but with "playing from the bottom of the deck." In addition, Rush Limbaugh has accused Obama of coming into office to divide, not unite, people across different races.
