Newly-signed Texas Longhorns coach Shaka Smart is saying goodbye to his home in Virginia.

The former mentor of the Virginia Commonwealth University basketball team has listed his house for almost $1.5 million, according to Realtor.com.

The Richmond abode of the 38-year-old coach, who just signed a seven-year deal worth $21.7 million with University of Texas, is a 1920s Colonial Revival residence.

The listing describes Smart's property as "a sanctuary for the twenty first century" and "one of the jewels of city architecture."

The home's notable interior details include 9-foot-high ceilings, French doors and a flooring lined with either wood or ceramic tiles. The property was designed by local architect Isaac Skinner who specializes in Colonial Revival works, noted NPS.gov. The property listing also shows that the home, located on a private double lot, was "conceived with such dignity and simplicity."

The 4,895-square-foot residence, sitting on 7,492 square-foot lot, reportedly includes a total of six bedrooms and four and a half bathrooms. It also has a living room with a fireplace lined with exquisite mantel, a formal dining room with an access to a lovely and "sensational" Charleston porch, a laundry room and a powder room.

The modern kitchen displays a center island with walnut counter top. However, the pride of the home may be its master bedroom that is equipped with a master bath and a large walk in closet.

The next owners of the residence, which has a brick wall entry, may also find comfort in the basement where the games room and a wine cellar are situated.

Property hunters can get in touch with real estate agent Ceci Amrhein Bill Gallasch of Joyner Fine Properties who handles the listing.

New Beginning in Texas

The University of Texas and its management had only Smart in mind when the university basketball program's position was opened as posted onTwitter.

The Texas basketball program also noted the great qualities Smart has, which makes him qualified for the position.

With these expectations, Smart committed by moving to Texas and he could be just residing "somewhere in or around Austin," noted the real estate blog.
