The “Power Rangers” reboot movie will be hitting theaters on January 13, 2017, but speculations about the film’s plot and timeline have been surfacing all over the Internet. Fortunately, for fans who have long been waiting for more details about the project, Heroic Hollywood has revealed some of the movie’s possible key plot points.

First, the movie will open with an Earth scene during the cretaceous period – which was around the last days of the dinosaurs’ existence on the planet.

According to the report, the scene will feature Zordon and his group of Power Rangers battling with Rita Repulsa. As described by the outlet's source, Rita will be introduced as a “subtly alien-looking woman.”

Fans of the “Power Rangers” franchise are well aware that Rita’s weapon is a “metallic staff” that is “topped with a distinctive crescent shape.” This staff is immensely powerful, giving her the power to create soulless, humanoid figures from the Earth itself.

Now, in the present time approximately 65 million years after the epic battle, Jason, who is later recruited as the Red Ranger, was found residing in Angel Grove, California, working at Hart Automotive, a small garage in the back of a car dealership company. It was Jason who got the mysterious text from Billy.

Apart from Jason, Kimberly, the Pink Ranger, was also found at Hart Automotive. She is a perfectionist and her father is the owner of the automotive shop. She and Jason are dating and they are oftentimes caught by her father making out in a dark corner inside the shop.

Zack, the Black Ranger, was found in Dave and Buster’s. He is a heartthrob and the other boys envy him, especially after he keeps scoring high points in a super-shot arcade style basketball game. When he was recruited to the school’s basketball team, Zack declined. Being the selfish 16-year-old that he is, he does not want to be part of a team since he believes that there is no “I” in team.

Meanwhile, 16-year-old Billy was later recruited as the Blue Ranger. He is a brilliant, young boy. Having sent a text message earlier to his friend, he then receives a response from Jason that they were already on their way.

Trini, the Yellow Ranger, is the introvert type. She hardly hangs out with her friends, and was shown in the film’s earlier scenes doing yoga all by herself in the desert.

Together, they all set forth to the desert to check out some fossil remains of a certain dinosaur. During excavation, they later discover old, glinting power coins that used to belong to the original Power Rangers - the ones who were featured in the film's opening scene with Zordon.

Apparently, when Zordon detonated the ground during the epic battle against Rita, he accidentally created some huge changes to the time-space continuum around the solar system. As it would turn out, Rita was also alive all this time and has sought sanctuary in Russia.

With plans of recreating GOLDAR, Rita Repulsa sets forth to steal gold through bank heists - something that the new group of Power Rangers will attempt to prevent from happening.

Again, the possible plot details above should be taken with a grain of salt, as the storyline, which Heroic Hollywood presented, has not yet been confirmed by Lionsgate.
