Munn will be playing Psylocke, a mutant with telepathic abilities and ninja-like skills. It is the second time that character will appear in an “X-Men” film as Meiling Melançon portrayed her in the 2006 film “X-Men: The Last Stand," in which she appears as a villain and a member of the Omegas, which fight against the X-Men. In the 2006 film, many comic book fans had issue with the interpretation of Psylocke as some of the powers were not exact to the comics and the uniform did not look anything like the original character.

Psylocke was originally written into “X-Men: Days of Future Past” but was later cut out of the film. Munn will revive the character 10 years later and from the looks of it, this iteration will be more faithful to the comics. While the costume has not been revealed, based on the way the past two X-Men films have been, this may be the interpretation comic book fans are waiting for.

Munn will star alongside Jennifer Lawrence’s Mystique, Nicholas Hoult’s Beast, Michael Fassbender’s Magneto, James McAvoy’s Xavier and Oscar Isaac’s Apocalypse. The film will also star Tye Sheridan as Cyclops, Sophie Turner as Jean Grey, Alexandra Shipp as Storm, Kodi Smit-McPhee as Nightcrawler and Ben Hardy as Angel.

“X-Men: Apocalypse” will open on May 27, 2016.
