Bobbi Kristina Brown's embattled boyfriend has hired a team of high-powered lawyers to represent him as police began to delve deeper into the circumstances, which led to her barely clinging to life.

People magazine reports Nick Gordon is now a client of Jose Baez, the same attorney who won an acquittal for Casey Anthony in her 2011 murder trial. He joins attorneys Joe Habachy and Randy Kessler, both of whom have reportedly represented Gordon for several months now. TJ Ward, who worked on the Natalee Holloway case, is also serving as an investigator.

Bobbi Kristina, the only daughter born to Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown, has yet to regain consciousness after being found face down in the bathtub of the home she shared with Gordon in late January. Earlier this month, family members moved her to a hospice facility and made the decision to take her off her life-preserving medications and allow her to "die naturally."

According to People, one of the first orders of business for Gordon's new team appears to be getting to the bottom of what happened in the couple's Roswell home on Jan. 31, leading to 22-year-old Bobbi Kristina being rushed to a hospital emergency room.

"We do know that other individuals were present at the time of when the emergency personnel were brought in," Ward's executive assistant Eli Benton told the magazine. "TJ will be trying to establish who was present and what their role was."

Meanwhile, conservators of Bobbi Kristina's estate recently moved to formally file a complaint against Gordon alleging that he physically abused her and stole at least $11,000 of her money.

In a statement, Fulton County District Attorney Paul L. Howard Jr. said the state will now be "reviewing the case with greater interest," which could lead to criminal charges being filed against Gordon.

On Tuesday, RadarOnline reported what could be Bobbi Kristina's final days are now filled with drama and family turmoil.

"There is a lot of internal conflict between the Browns and the Houstons," a source admitted. "The Houstons think the Browns are going to do something to exploit the situation."
