Teresa Giudice is rumored to have once been angling to be released from prison as early as this summer.

RadarOnline reports the "Real Housewives of New Jersey" star recently inquired with Danbury Correctional Facility officials about getting a weekend visitor's pass that would allow her to visit her supposedly ailing parents. Reportedly, the plan only lost a bit of steam after Giudice was informed she would be required to show medical proof of her parent's sickly condition for the request to be approved.

"Teresa was told there would need to be documentation from her father's doctor outlining his current health condition," a source told Radar. "Nothing has changed since she went to prison and she was advised to not pursue the furlough."

Prior to this attempt, a source claims Giudice told other inmates she really wanted to "just go shopping with her mom at the local mall."

Whenever she is released from her 15-month sentence on fraud related charges, things appear to be lining up for the 43-year-old mother of four to be able to afford to make all the mall trips she may ever want.

Radar previously reported Bravo officials have offered Giudice up to $2 million to return to the cast of the reality show, infuriating other cast members reported to still be in contract talks with show officials about next season.

"The other ladies haven't even signed their contracts to return, and this convicted felon is having the red carpet rolled out for her, a source told the website. "Teresa's contract has been finalized and Bravo is ready to focus the entire season on her return."

Reportedly, all that stands in the way of Giudice signing on the dotted line for a return is approval from the state's probation department. Given that she stands to still be on probation once she is released. Giudice is required to get the approval of her probation officer before accepting any form of employment.

Once Teresa is released from custody, her husband Joe is set to begin serving his 41-month sentence on similar charges.
