Recently, "Jane the Virgin" landed on TIME's "Best TV of 2015" and rightfully so!
"The series began with Gina Rodriguez pregnant, but it was born fully formed: playful, big-hearted and refreshing. Based off of the Venezuelan telenovela "Juana La Virgen," the series stars Rodriguez ("Filly Brown," "Go for It!" "Our Family Wedding"), Andrea Navedo ("Remember Me," "Washington Heights"), Yael Grobglas ("Reign"), Justin Baldoni ("Everwood," "Spring Break Shark Attack"), Ivonne Coll ("Teen Wolf," "Switched At Birth"), Brett Dier ("Ravenswood") and Jaime Camil ("Qué Pobres Tan Ricos").
Amid the tropical Miami backdrop, "Jane the Virgin" captures the surprising twists and turns of events that unfold in the interesting life of Jane Villanueva.
Jane (Rodriguez) is "a 23 year old hard-working, religious Latina woman" whose longtime boyfriend is a detective. While her family tradition and vow is to save her virginity until marriage, this expectation is squashed when her doctor mistakenly artificially inseminates her during a checkup.
As if that wasn't traumatizing enough, the biological donor is a married man, "a former playboy and cancer survivor" who happens to be the new owner of the hotel where Jane works as well as her former teenage crush -- and the plot thickens!
"Jane the Virgin: The Complete First Season" DVD costs $49.99 and will be available in English with French, Spanish, English subtitles on Sept. 29, 2015.
