On Season 3 of NBC's highly acclaimed but rarely watched series "Hannibal," the pursuit draws dangerously close in the episode titled "Contorno." This episode is scheduled to air tonight at 10 p.m. EST, according the Wall Street Journal.

In what appears to be the most anticipated moments of this recently cancelled series, Season 3 of "Hannibal" is coming to a mid-season arc that will pick up with the "Red Dragon" novel series of events as outlined by the original book's author, Thomas Harris.

This is the point where Hannibal Lecter (Mads Mikkleson) is in Florence with his former psychiatrist and now closest confidante, Bedelia du Maurier (Gillian Anderson). All the people pursuing the calm and dangerous cannibal includes FBI agents Jack Crawford (Laurence Fishburne) and Will Graham (Hugh Dancy).

Dr. Alana Bloom, (Caroline Dhavernas) is also on the hunt. She's being bankrolled and accompanied by the psychotic Mason Verger, who has been recast this year by Joe Anderson (replacing Michael Pitt), on the trail of Lecter, who left her for dead. Lecter is also the one who caused Verger to hack his face into a grotesque "meat-pile."

According to Spoilers Guide, Crawford is going to be joined on the pursuit by Inspector Pazzi (Fortunato Cerlino). But Pazzi may also be tempted by Verger with financial wealth if he corresponds with him and does his alternative bidding for Lecter.

Graham is joined by Chiyoh (Tao Okamoto) in his own quest for to find Hannibal. The problem here is not with finding him, but both may have envisioned alternative outcomes with different motives in the pursuit. They are both at odds during the journey as they are also quickly closing in on the "most-wanted" clever cannibal.

Although Bloom is a woman scorned by Hannibal, she is also concerned about the safety of everyone involved. Working with Verger for her is a just a means to an end.
