Chelsea has signed a sensational international player -- but just on loan.

Goal is reporting Chelsea signed Columbia star Radamel Falcao as a loan for a full season. The striker had been with Manchester United since last September on a one-year loan. Falcao didn't produce much for Manchester United as he only scored four goals in 29 appearances.

Falcao expressed his excitement on joining Chelsea: "I am very happy to be joining Chelsea and can't wait to start training and help with our aim of retaining the league title and being successful in Europe."

Falcao, who became one of the best strikers in all of Europe, had successful stints with Porto and Atletico Madrid. He has also won the Copa Del Rey and the UEFA European League on the Spanish side.

According to BBC Sports, the striker scored 72 goals in two seasons for FC Porto between 2009 and 2011, before joining Atletico Madrid.

After 70 goals in two prolific seasons with the Spanish side, Monaco signed him for £50 million in 2013.

However, injuries slowed him down. In January 2014, he tore a ligament in his leg and had surgery.

The question is, Which Falcao will Chelsea get? The lethal predator we saw devour opposition defenses on a weekly basis at FC Porto and Atletico Madrid? Or the frustrated striker for Manchester United last season?

Chelsea obviously hopes to get the player who destroyed defenses during his days with Atletico Madrid. He has a shot at redemption and is out to prove everybody wrong.

Falcao will make his Chelsea debut next season. It is not known how much money he will make during his 12-month stay at Chelsea.
