The raunchy 2001 cult-hit "Wet Hot American Summer" initially had a poor reception from critics and audiences with a dismal box-office return and a theatrical release in nearly 30 U.S. cities. But the show had a swagger all-to-common to itself that received a cult-following and featured some of today's biggest stars but were unknown actors at the time.

But now, Netflix has breathed new life into the original film with a prequel TV series to air exclusively on the cyber-streaming buffet, which includes the original cast plus some extra names such as Jon Hamm and John Slattery of "Mad Men," according to E! News.

The hype over the series has been somewhat tame until this week's release of the new full-length trailer that some may classify as rated "R" for viewers. The trailer features vulgar language and some of the most comical, sexually charged scenes of the series which hails as a prequel to the original film that shot nearly 15 years ago.

The trailer is an exciting romp through the original themed Camp Firewood, which is where the first film took place. The prequel series, "Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp," will take place at the beginning of the same summer that the first film was based in, which was the early '80s.

The original film took place over one day, the last day of the summer camp and featured hilarious, over-the-top, slapstick comedy including sexual situations, drug use and even falling in love.

In the trailer, the camp's director addresses the same cast, but refers to them as 16 and 17 years old. The irony of the situation is that it's the same actors, which are Paul Rudd, Elizabeth Banks, Bradley Cooper, Janeane Garofalo, Christopher Meloni, Ken Marino and many more.

Hamm and Slatery were added to the cast and brought about incredible humor. In the trailer, Hamm was a military spy who invaded the camp and dueled with Meloni's crazy, war-bitten ego.
