Saturday’s chance of winning big at Powerball has arrived. Since no one won the grand prize last Wednesday -- when the winning numbers were 7, 24, 26, 31, 41, and 25 -- all that money has rolled over and is now at $70 million with a $42.6 million cash value.

There were 347,112 regular winners last Saturday, and $3,245,521 in non-jackpot money was won.

There are actually nine ways to win at Powerball, with a 1 in 175,223,510.00 in winning the grand prize, and 1 in 5,153,632.65 in winning $1 million.

So, the chances of winning are definitely slim, but people do win.

As reported by Cleveland.com, a Powerball player in Ashtabula County just missed out on becoming a multimillionaire by matching the first five numbers of Wednesday’s drawing but not that last Powerball number. The prize is still pretty goodm as, instead of winning the $60 million jackpot, the player gets $1 million.

Forbes recently reported adivising lottery winners on the best ways to behave after suddenly going up an income bracket. Among the list of good ideas -- such as remaining anonymous, seeing a tax professional before cashing in the ticket and assembling a team of legal and financial advisers -- the one cautionary bit of advice that seems really prudent and is probably the hardest to do is avoiding sudden lifestyle changes.

According to Forbes, "For the first six months after you win the lottery, don’t do anything drastic, like quitting your job, buying a home in Europe, trading up for a luxury car or building a collection of Birkin handbags."

"Save the big purchases for later,” suggesting that lottery winners might consider renting a house in the neighborhood where they are thinking of moving before making any big commitments.
