"Ugly Betty" actress Vanessa Williams married her fiancé Jim Skrip in New York on the Fourth of July.

The singer and actress met the former accountant when she was vacationing in Egypt back in 2013, Us Weekly reports.

Williams announced her engagement in September 2014 when she was on The Queen Latifah Show. She was fulfilling her role in "Trip to Bountiful" at the time.

"I have had a lot of good things happen. I turned 50 when we were in rehearsal on Broadway, I just got engaged a couple of weeks ago. It has been a lot of blessings on this trip," Williams said while flashing her diamond ring.

"You go across the world to find somebody who's six hours away," she added.

The famous actress has been married two times before. She and her first husband Ramon Hervey were married for 10 years and share three children together. Her second marriage with Rick Fox lasted six years and they share a 15-year-old daughter.

Williams and Skrip were engaged after dating for nearly a year, New York Daily News reports.

"You never know what you'll find and where you'll find it," she told MadameNoire in April. "I was on vacation with my daughter going to Egypt, cruising on the Nile. I wasn't looking for anything. I'd been alone for a number of years and divorced for 10 years at that time."

The former Miss America contestant has eight studio albums and has received numerous Emmy nominations for her role in "Ugly Betty," ABC News reports.

In 1983, she was crowned the first African American Miss America, according to Biography.com. She then was asked to step down from her post when nude pictures of her were found in Penthouse magazine.

After that Miss America scandal, Williams picked up a successful music career and later branched into acting.
