Stories detailing how male actors in Los Angeles keep a revolving door full of women have become a common part of American lore. Another common depiction of Hollywood centers around its penchant for crazy, over-the-top behavior. It appears for Eddie Kaye Thomas, things got a little too Hollywood Wednesday evening.

Authorities were called to Thomas' home Wednesday over a domestic dispute between Thomas and an unidentified women. The women and Thomas, best known for his role as Finch in the "American Pie" movies, had met the previous night at Mel's Diner and had returned to his Hollywood home later that evening.

"The suspect was a guest over night, and this morning was asked to leave, refused to leave, became agitated, armed herself with a knife," reported LT. Andy Neiman, spokesman for the LAPD.

The suspect allegedly became irate when they got into an argument after Thomas asked her to leave, and threatened him with a knife. She was reportedly ripping phones off the wall and generally tearing the house apart. At that point Thomas called 911, and a standoff began.

Both the police and SWAT team soon came to surround the house, and there were even helicopters called to the scene. For five and a half hours the woman barricaded herself inside while authorities tried to get her out. Eventually, the SWAT team fired tear gas and flash bangs into the residence, and at 6:30 p.m. the suspect was apprehended.

"It may have sounded like a lot of tear gas, but again, we try to use the minimal amount of force necessary," Neiman said.

Nothing else is known about the woman at this time, and only faint photographs have been posted to the internet. The suspect appears to be dressed rather eclectically, wearing tall black platform boots, a robe over a button-down shirt, and what appears to be biker shorts.
