A multi-story building in Brooklyn collapsed unexpectedly today.

ABC 7 Eyewitness News is reporting the 1438 Fulton Street building in the Bedford Stuyvesant section of Brooklyn collapsed. Firefighters and emergency crews were on the scene. According to reports, three people were injured due to the flying debris. One of the victims included a pedestrian riding a bicycle down the street. Police said that the bicyclist was knocked off his bike when the incident happened. 

According to NBC News, the victims were taken to Kings Country Hospital Center hospital where they are expected to survive.

Officials say that the building was under demolition when part of the building collapse. Firefighters searched the rubble where they found no one inside.  

The MTA has announced that the building collapse has affected their train service. The A trains are running with delays in both directions while the C train is bypassing the the Kingston-Throop Avenue station.

The cause of the collapse is not known but an investigation is under way. 

Yahoo is reporting that the building previously was occupied by Sahel Inc, a wholesale beauty supply store. The owner, Bashir Hamadou, told officials that he moved from that location three months ago and no one lived there ever since.
