Jason Silva, the Venezuelan, Emmy-nominated host of National Geographic Channel's hit TV series "Brain Games," (which airs in over 100 countries) will host an one-hour special called "Redescubriendo Plutón," which translates to "Rediscovering Pluto."

Nat Geo Mundo is airing it on Sunday, July 19 at 9 p.m. EST in 170 countries and 45 languages.

"If you've seen me on shows like Brain Games, you'll know how much I get fired up by the wonders of the universe and the power of technology to bring them to us," said Silva. "We're on the brink of profound discoveries about the last piece of real estate in our solar system."

To capture this historic mission on the edge of our solar system, Nat Geo Mundo teamed up with top scientists and NASA to capture the first clear images and data ever recorded of Pluto.

According to Nat Geo Mundo, "in 2006, New Horizons took off on a rocket to begin its 3-billion-mile voyage, when the probe reaches its destination, it will speed by the dwarf planet at close to 9 miles per second creating a very tight window for the spacecraft to photograph Pluto, and gather the data it is looking for. In 'Redescubriendo Plutón,' viewers will have access to the first images captured by New Horizons in the final moments of the mission."

"Although the outcome and overall success of the mission is unknown," Nat Geo Mundo adds, "it pays homage to one of NASA's most ambitious, most daring and highest-stakes endeavors to date, and celebrates the 'little planet that could' ... Pluto."

With Silva at the helm of the one-hour special, he will break down the science behind the mission and explain the longtime fascination with Pluto.

Silva is also the creator of "Shots of Awe," a short film series of "'trailers for the mind' that serve as philosophical espresso shots exploring innovation, technology creativity, futurism and the metaphysics of the imagination.'" "Shots of Awe" has received more than 13 million views.
