Love, like most things, has gone digital.

For example: Naya Rivera, who portrays Santana Lopez on the hit series Glee, met fiancé rapper Big Sean on Twitter. In just a few short months, the two went from exchanging 140-character messages to promising that they would exchange vows. Rivera and Big Sean aren't the only ones finding connection and affection on the worldwide web, however. USA Today conducted a study in 2013, which indicated that more than one-third of recent marriages begin online.

The stigma that was once associated with online dating has faded, and the general population, especially young internet-savvy Blacks and Latinos, have begun to use the internet to find a mate. Between social network settings (e.g. Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Tumblr and the fairly defunct Myspace) and numerous dating sites -- including newly spawned Latino-geared dating sites -- the internet has become the ideal location for seeking companionship. That same USA Today study indicated that the internet produces slightly happier and longer lasting relationships than those that begin offline.

Tinder, Facebook's AYI, Match.com, and OkCupid have taken a backseat to leading Latino dating sites for some Hispanics. Latin AmericanCupid.com, Amigos.com, eHarmony Hispanic DatingOmegleLatinLoveSearch.com, Amor.com, LatinaRomance.com, and LatinoPeopleMeet.com are the leading websites that beckon Latinos, attempting to help them find love, at the mere cost of a monthly membership that varies between $10 - $30. On these websites questionnaires are administered, preferences are considered, and millions of eligible Latino bachelors and bachelorettes are matched based on a few key factors.

Ethno-specific dating sites are valuable when wanting to date within la raza, particularly if one were to consider findings which reveal that interracial dating is often the objective on traditional dating sites. Latina women tend to be most responsive to white men, while Latino men tend to be responsive to Asian women, showing a disconnect between Latino men and women who seek love on the "mainstream" dating market.
