Fans of 'X-Men' might still see Rogue in the movie, even if it was already reported that the character has been cut off in this year's installment of the franchise, reports Empire Online.

Movie magazine Empire took on an all-X-Men theme for their 25th anniversary - offering readers 25 Limited Edition Collector's Covers featuring different characters from the franchise, including Rogue.

Rogue appearing on one of the covers naturally sparked a question among readers and fans. Will we be seeing Anna Paquin in the upcoming 'X-Men' film after all?

Empire Online reached out to X-Men franchise director, Bryan Singer who commented that Anna Paquin's character, Rogue, might still be seen in 'X-Men: Days of Future Past.'

"It does not mean that we won't see her in the film," Singer told Empire Online. "Also, I hope to make the sequence available on the DVD as she was quite wonderful in it. She is an important part of the X-Men family," the director continued.

'X-Men' fans might also have their dose of Rogue in the upcoming film - but as a slain mutant, suggests MTV. The idea hinges on the classic "Days of Future Past" comic cover where Rogue was listed as one of the "slain" mutants.

With regards to Paquin still appearing on the Limited Edition Collector's Cover of Empire Magazine, the director remarks, "I 'm very pleased she will remain as one of Empire's anniversary covers," in a report by Empire Online.

MTV also notes that Rogue appearing on one of the movie mag's 25 covers is a given, saying that "it helps the magazine achieve its grand total of 25."

As a refresh, one scene involving Anna Paquin, Ian McKellen, Sir Patrick Stewart and Shawn Ashmore was reportedly cut off from 'X-Men: Days of Future Past,' says Empire Online in an earlier report.

According to Singer, the deleted scene has been deemed "extraneous," thus the snipping. Incidentally, the deleted scene was also the only scene Anna Paquin shot for the film as Rogue, notes Empire Online.

'X-Men: Days of Future Past' is already within arm's reach with a US release date of May 23.
