One Direction's Louis Tomlinson and ex-girlfriend, Eleanor Calder, are rumored to be getting closer amid baby news.

Several reports are claiming that the 23-year-old heartthrob of the popular singing boy band is going to be a dad, and the baby mama is Los Angeles-based stylist Briana Jungwirth, People magazine noted.

Although it certainly devastated millions of fans of the very popular singer, Tomlinson is said to be excited about his imminent new role of being a father, an insider told the magazine.

"Louis is happy and very excited about becoming a dad and he thinks Briana will be an amazing mother. It was a surprise at first, but he and Briana are very, very close friends and this has brought them even closer," said the source.

How about Calder?

Apparently, since the pregnancy news broke out, Tomlinson has been speaking to his former girlfriend more, a source told Hollywood Life.

"He's been reaching out to Eleanor more than ever before and reassuring her that he never wanted to hurt her... that the pregnancy wasn't planned and that he's not in a serious relationship with Briana," the source said.

Although it appears that the superstar and Calder may still have a lot of things to work out, his reaching out to his ex, if true, seems to be an indication that he may still have feelings for her that he would like to pursue, once everything's sorted out.

The source also shared that Tomlinson is really sorry for whatever pain he caused Calder, upon receiving the news on her side.

"He's been telling Eleanor that no one can compare to her. Louis feels like he let Eleanor down and for that he's really sorry. He feels bad and knows how hard it's been on her. That's so sweet of him to do," the source added.

But right now, Calder is not the only one needing support. Jungwirth's dad told the Daily Mail that his daughter is having a hard time dealing with the news, now that it's out in the open.

"Briana's really shy, she's strong but shy, she's tough but shy and she's having a tough time with it, it's stressing her out right now, she's texting me all the time... Now that she's out of her mother's house she's a little bit better but she really doesn't like any of this stuff," Joe Jungwirth said.
