Leading Republican 2016 presidential candidate Donald Trump is now calling for a U.S. boycott of Mexico.

The boisterous Trump, who has made the issue of reforming illegal immigration a centerpiece of his campaign, is also blasting the Mexican government and court system as corrupt.

"I'm not going to Mexico," the New York Post reports he recently told WABC radio during an interview. "And I don't think anybody from this country [should]. I think we should boycott Mexico, frankly."

As an example of the country's corruption, Trump claimed he has a judgment for a million dollars in Mexico, but is unable to collect it because "the court system is so bad."

Previously, Trump has castigated many Mexicans who enter the U.S. as drug-runners "and rapists."

Not all Trump's acidic rhetoric has come without him having to pay a price. Viewership for Donald Trump's Miss USA pageant recently sank to an average low of just 925,000 viewers and had to be moved to niche cable channel Reelz when other networks refused to air it.

Overall, those audience figures represented a nearly 5 million total drop in viewers from the 5.6 million watchers that tuned in a year earlier when the pageant aired on NBC.

Trump, who didn't attend this year's event, is now rumored to be looking to sell his stake in pageants altogether, reports the New York Post. The real-estate magnate is reported to own as much as 49 percent of the Miss Universe Organization.

Both NBC and Spanish-language broadcaster Univision refused to air the pageant in the wake of all Trump's derogatory comments about Mexicans. Trump has since sued Univision for $500 million over its decision and insists he plans to hit NBC with similar proceedings.

On Saturday, Trump continued his tirade against Mexican immigrants during the Family Leadership Summit. When asked whether he thinks he went to far regarding his comments about Mexican immigrants, the real estate magnate said, "Not at all." And it was all caught on video.

He went on to claim that many in the media had apologized to him in the weeks after his statement.
