Zach Johnson has won the 2015 British Open, according to Bleacher Report. Though the competition was wildly entertaining, only one winner could come out on top. Johnson claimed victory over Louis Oosthuizen and Marc Leishman in the playoff to win the Open, one of golf's most precious prizes.

It is Johnson's second major in his career and his first since winning the 2007 Masters. Despite high winds, Johnson clinched the win by setting up a crucial birdie putt after Oosthuizen failed to birdie on the 18th hole.

In an interview with ESPN after his win, an overjoyed and emotional Johnson stated: "I'm grateful, humbled. I'm thankful. I'm honored, This is the birthplace of the game. The Claret Jug means so much in sports and in golf. I'm just in awe right now."

Meanwhile, Jordan Spieth bogeyed the 17th hole at St. Andrews, then left a putt from the Valley of Sin at the 18th just left of the hole to miss out on a playoff at the British Open. Spieth carded a final-round 69, one that included a big birdie make from 50 feet at the 15th but also a four-putt double bogey at the eighth hole. He finished at 14 under, a shot back of Johnson.

According to Golf, major marquee names such as Tiger Woods, who scored 75 in the opening round, failed to make the cut. There have been whispers that this might be the beginning of the end for Woods, who underwent a back surgery a year ago that altered his abilities.

Johnson joins Jack Nicklaus, Tiger Woods, Sam Snead, Seve Ballesteros and Nick Faldo as the only players to win the Masters and a British Open on the Old Course.
