Sonic the Hedgehog is finally coming to next gen game consoles, according to a photo on Spindash.

The German website reportedly posted photos of the well-loved character's merchandise on display at the Nuremberg toy fair in Germany, reports Escapist Magazine. Among the numerous snapshots of Sonic merchandise was one that announced a next gen Sonic game coming in 2015.

"New 2015 title TBA," the poster read. Below the humble announcement were logos of the Wii U, the PS4 and the Xbox One.

The makers of Sonic the Hedgehog have not made any other announcement nor have they provided hints on the next gen Sonic the Hedgehog game on the character's website.

The poster also mentioned Sonic: Lost World, released in 2013 for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U, and Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games: Sochi 2014 for Wii U.

Sonic Stadium also notes that Sega is working on a third Nintendo exclusive Sonic game though such game has not been included in the poster. According to the report, the Nintendo exclusive Sonic game is expected to launch anytime this year.

Finally, Sega is launching a new Sonic show on Cartoon Network. Based on the poster, the new Sonic show is entitled Sonic Boom and will start airing on Cartoon Network by fall of this year.

The poster says that Sonic Boom mainly targets viewers aged 6 to 11 years old and viewers who are boys. The new Sonic show on Cartoon Network consists of 52 episodes, with one episode running for about 11 minutes.

Sonic Boom will also be Sega's first CG animated film, says the poster. According to Video Gamer, the show is of an action-comedy genre and will feature the famous hedgehog along with his best friend Tails, arch-nemesis Dr. Eggman, Knuckles and Amy Rose, among others.
