Michael Bay will once again blast his way into the box office with another "Transformers" movie.

According to Movie Pilot, months of rumors have ended as it has been confirmed that the "Purge" director will direct the next "Transformers" movie.

Bay will be reunited with his "Pain & Gain" actor in the franchise's fifth installment which is considered to be among 2017's highly anticipated films.

Mark Wahlberg will be on board to reprise his role as "Cade Yeager" in the hit blockbuster film series.

However, the lead star in the series' first three films, Shia LaBeouf, has shut down any hopes of his participation in "Transformers 5." LaBeouf criticized both Bay and Bumblebee two months ago.

"Bumblebee never sounds real. It's just a f--ing name. When you work with certain directors who give over and do something that's presentational and you both believe it, then there is no f***ing around, and you really are in this alternate universe," LaBeouf said, as quoted by The Hollywood Reporter.

Fans can expected to see new bots in "Transformers 5." Ultra Magnus, Optimus Prime's second-in-command, will make his cinematic debut in the movie. The Quintessons will also be in the mix. They are billed as the ancient race that created the Transformers.

With the addition of more writers to the fifth installment of Paramount's franchise, speculations regarding the plot are circling the rumor mill.

Ken Nolan and Geneva Robertson-Dworet have been added to the writers room led by Akiva Goldsman.

Joining them are Robert Kirkman, Zak Penn, Jeff Pinkner, Art Marcum, Matt Holloway, Andrew Barrer, Gabriel Ferrari, Christina Hodson and Lindsay Beer.

The writers have started making plans for the franchise last month in the hope of finishing the storyline in time for Bay's return, Deadline reported.

The report added that they may also take inspiration from what has been done on the TV shows, particularly with Universal Studios' Monsters' Room, Star Wars Room and Marvel.

"The whole process of the story room was really delightful, and we are seeing it more in movies as these moves toward serialized storytelling... We're trying to beg, borrow and steal from the best of them, and gathered a group of folks interested in developing and broadening this franchise," said Goldsman.

As to the movie's plot, reports claim that the fifth film may see Optimus Prime, Ultra Magnus, together with new Autobots confronting the Quintessons and the Decepticons.
