The release of the Samsung Galaxy S5 will be going head to head with the expected launch of the iPhone sometime this year.

The rumors surrounding the Samsung Galaxy S5 has been hot and heavy these last few months but there are a lot of conflicting reports circulating on the web.

A letter from KDB Daewoo Securities shows alleged details regarding screen size, processor, and other key information for both new devices as reported by TechRadar.

Yahoo News reports that the Galaxy S5 will pack specs that outshine and outclass its iOS-powered rivals. The S5 will carry either a 2.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon chipset or an octa-core 64-bit Exynos SoC clocked at 2GHz.

Other rumored specs of the new device include a 5.2- or 5.25-inch AMOLED display with WQHD resolution (2,560 x 1,440 pixels), 3GB of RAM, 32GB/64GB/128GB storage options, a 16-megapixel rear camera, a 3.2-megapixel front-facing camera and a massive 3,200 mAh battery. KDB also says that the Galaxy S5 version it has detailed will be the first flagship phone from Samsung to feature an all-metal case.

Samsung may take the crown when it comes to the display resolution says VR Zone. Samsung will incorporate a 2,560 x 1,440 pixels (WQHD, aka Quad HD or 2K) and 560 ppi pixel density. While, the smaller and usually more compact iPhone 6 is said to sport a 4.7 or 4.8-inch screen and tipped to sport 1,920 x 1,080 pix res (440 ppi), and the larger model a 5.5-inch IGZO panel with 2,272 x 1,280 pixels and 510 ppi.

The new device, the Samsung Galaxy S5 will be having its debut either during the first or second quarter this year. However, a separate report has been released recently stating that Samsung plans to unveil the new handset during a special event in mid-March.
