Since the announcement of the next installment of Star Wars was made, speculation has come up about everything from casting to storyline. Alongside this speculation came fan artwork that gave a visual representation of the speculation... and some of it turned out to be pretty amazing! Here, then, are our top 10 fan art pictures.

10. The Shadows of Vader

Found on the ComicBookMovie.com website, this was the first piece of fan art to hit the web. It came right after it was announced that JJ Abrams was in the director's chair for the new film.

9. The Force Will Rise Again

Created by Jonathan Rudolph and found on his DeviantArt page, this poster captures the "badassery" of Luke Skywalker as a Jedi knight.

8. We're Back

Here's a fun piece of fan art that actually pays homage to the early Star Wars posters which were illustrated by Drew Struzan.

7. Skywalker-Wan Kenobi

It's hard to believe, but the first Star Wars movie debuted nearly 37 years ago. The spritely Mark Hamill/Luke Skywalker was in his early 20s at the time. Now, of course, he's pushing 60... so it would make sense to depict him as an older, wiser, Obi-Wan Kenobi-type Jedi figure. This depiction is nothing if not poignant.

6. Millennium Falcon, Ho!

This piece of fan art combines the ruggedness of some of the latest Star Trek posters with the emotions evoked by Star Wars. This poster was created by Josh Lange.

5. A New Beginning

The Millennium Falcon crashes on Tattoine... a nice Planet of the Apes-type touch.

4. It's Simple

Sometimes, the simplest art is the best art. And this piece of work by Wormy1 is the best example of that.

3. There IS Another Skywalker

This hot'n'sexy photo features a dominatrix-type Jedi... and she's a woman! Hooray! Another female in the galaxy!

2. Dawn of the Republic

Because NO Star Wars poster is complete without Boba Fett, this poster features not only the most infamous bounty hunter in the galaxy, but speculation on the name of the new film: Dawn of the Republic.

1. Return to the Stars

Another poignant, post-apocalyptic Star Wars poster, this one gives hope even in its despair.
