Christina Milian is using her celebrity status to highlight fellow Latinas. The actress posted a special feature about Peruvian designer Alejandra Boggiano on her blog.

Boggiano, who Milian called "the most fascinating designer from Miami Swim week," is a swimwear designer who created her brand, Solkissed, three years ago. The designer, who began designing and selling swimsuits on Etsy until she was noticed, is one of the few Latino designers who debuted collections at Miami Swim week and attracted the attention of Milian.

Milian called Boggiano a "social entrepreneur" because of her decision to hire female workers who live in Peru. This gives these workers the ability to financially support their families and take care of their children's daily needs by working from home.

Most notably, Boggiano's brand is one of 12 businesses that have been recognized by a merit award created by Hillary Clinton. "La Idea" helps create collaborations between business owners in the U.S. and in Latin American countries to help supply jobs and economic growth.

Boggiano's brand also won runner up for the Lycra design challenge during Miami Swim Week, leading Milian to call the brand "unstoppable."

Milian is currently promoting new music as well as her clothing line, "We Are Pop Culture." The star hosted a block party, which she advertised on her social media accounts, in Melrose on July 29 to celebrate the opening of her new pop up shop of the same name.

"Our company focuses on providing our peers with visually stimulating, thought, provoking and trendsetting products that fit into their everyday lives," reads the "We Are Pop Cultre" website.

The block party included a performance from the 33-year-old star and a fashion show to give fans a look at various items from her collection. The entire event was filmed for Season 2 of Milian's reality show, "Christina Milian Turned Up."
