Serinda Swan's character on "Graceland" Paige Arkin is considered a pretty tough woman, but in a clip from the July 30 episode, titled "Buto Ijo," the character is about to face her toughest mission yet.

Arkin is being sent by Briggs, played by Daniel Sunjata, to try and win the trust of Toros (Val Lauren) by going undercover with the Sarkissian family.

Swan spoke to Entertainment Weekly about her character having to go undercover and the dangers that entails.

"It's something that we haven't really touched upon on 'Graceland,' which is [something] that female undercovers go up against a lot: A lot of the time they go under as a wife, girlfriend or love interest," said Swan. "To see Paige struggle against that to keep her morals while at the same time wanting to take down the Sarkissians -- who tortured and murdered Colby, which was her fault -- you see her really struggle with that. Also, at the same time, you see she's a ballsy badass who will take anybody down."

Swan was the subject of criticism recently, according to TVLine, because of her character's story arc, which took Arkin from a fan favorite to one of the most hated characters on the show after her Season 2 betrayal.

"You know, that's when the faith of who created the show and the writer comes into play" Swan told TVLine. "You look at it and say, 'OK, you know what you're doing and I trust you.' I mean, obviously I had some questions because it was such a shock for even us."

So what's next for Arkin this season? According to Swan, it's a lot of reflection and growth.

"One of the biggest hurdles she has this season is to find her moral compass again and to realize that she got so affected by her love for Mike, and also by her love for Lena, that she lost who she was," said Swan. "It's a fight between forgiving herself and accepting forgiveness from Mike."

"Graceland" airs Thursday night at 10 p.m. on USA.
