Danny Garcia remains undefeated.

Garcia beat Paulie Malignaggi in Brooklyn, New York City on Saturday night to extend his perfect record to 31-0. This was his first career welterweight fight, but Garcia was able to take down Paulie Malignaggi.

Garcia was the early aggressor in the fight, making Malignaggi run around the ring, but he couldn't land that big punch that he wanted to. In the third round Garcia finally landed a big blow against Malignaggi, creating a cut over his left eye.

In the sixth round Garcia knocked down Malignaggi. That was the first knockdown of the fight.

Malignaggi and Garcia traded blows in the seventh round in what was the most physical round of the fight. Garcia followed that up by dominating the eight round. The fight was called off in the ninth round by the head judge. Garcia was ruled the winner by TKO.

Garcia is the current holder of the WBC & WBA Super Lightweight titles, but many had their doubts on whether or not he could transition to the next level. Garcia is one of the most well known Puerto Rican boxers today.

Malignaggi is now 33-7 as a professional fighter having lost three of his last four fights.
