Wendy Williams is gearing up to executive produce and star in a new show "Death by Gossip," which will air on the Investigation Discovery channel, MadameNoire reports.

Williams will be lending her entertainment gossip talk show skills to the new ID show. The new show reportedly delves into the lives of perpetrators who have committed crimes fueled by rumors and gossip.

Variety reports that Williams and Discovery Networks' Group President Henry Schleiff recently attended the Television Critics Association press tour to elaborate on "Death by Gossip," which will air on Friday, Oct. 9 at 10 p.m. EDT.

"There's nobody better than the daring diva of daytime, Wendy Williams, to offer this cautionary tale to those who indulge in chatter and innuendo," Schleiff said at the TCA press tour. "Jealousy, drama and betrayal - no one tells those tales like ID, and now with Wendy on board, our arsenal of homegrown experts has grown that much more entertaining."

Williams then went on to share her excitement over joining the Discovery ID network.

"It's no rumor ... I'm obsessed with ID to the point that it keeps me up at night," Williams said. "I couldn't be happier to host and executive producer my own project on one of my favorite networks and showcase my brand of talk, which won't get you killed, but it will kill in the ratings!"

MadameNoire reports that prior to "Death by Gossip," Williams hosted a Discovery ID special titled "50 Ways to Leave Your Lover," which aired on Valentine's Day.

Variety adds that Barbara Walters will also be getting her own show on the network. Walters' series is titled "Barbara Walters Presents American Scandals," and it will air on Monday, Nov. 2 at 10 p.m. EST.

"Barbara Walters Presents American Scandals" will include one-hour episodes of the iconic reporter's most memorable one-on-one interviews. Walters will update viewers on what happened to these memorable interviewees, and she will answer lingering questions that viewers might still have.
