"Married at First Sight" is the current subject of cancellation speculation because of high divorce rates, reports Realty Today.

The show matches two complete strangers and marries them without even letting them meet before the wedding. None of the participants are given any information about each other. While it received some positive reviews when it first premiered, it is now receiving more criticism than anything else.

In the episode "Six Months Later," it was revealed all the couples who participated in Season 2, Jaclyn Methuen and Ryan Ranellone, Jessica Castro and Ryan De Nino, and Davina Kullar and Sean Varricchio, have all gotten divorced. Varricchio and Kullar ended their marriage after just a month of being married.

Ryan De Nino and Jessica Castro's split also brought a lot of controversy to the show. According to People, the couple split after De Nino threatened to kill Castro and her family and because he was a drug user.

Many questioned the security of the shows participants, but Kinetic Content, the shows' production company released a statement supporting their process.

"We don't know all the details and can't comment on the specifics," the company said. "What we can say is that unfortunately, couples on the show can go through real divorces, and divorce can often be difficult.

"The experts on our show have the best of intentions and highest hopes for success for each couple. After undergoing extensive background and psychological checks by third parties, couples agree to be legally married on our show. We document their journey for six weeks after their wedding, but we can't control how they behave, or govern their actions after production."

Besides the lack of actual successful relationships, there are other factors leading viewers to speculate about a possible cancellation of the show.

According to Movie News Guide, the casting calls for Season 3 of the show are no longer available, and news for the next season is lacking from both A&E and FYI.
