Real Madrid will play its first game in the Audi Cup when it takes on Tottenham Hotspur on Tuesday.

Madrid will be without Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo as both players are injured. Benzema has been in the rumor mill as a potential piece that the team could sell, but most indications point toward Benzema remaining with Madrid for the foreseeable future.

The game will allow Gareth Bale to showcase his talents. He will be the focal point of the attack and look to make a mark against his former club.

What will be interesting to note is whether or not Bale plays in the hole behind the striker or if he is moved to the wing to make room for James Rodriguez. The Colombian scored a free kick goal a few games back against Inter Milan and looks primed to be the team's No. 10 this season.

Bale could then be pushed to the wing allowing Ronaldo to slot up top.

There is still a long way to go before this is determined, but it will be the main narrative for this team leading up to its opening in a few weeks.

The goaltending situation will also be one to monitor. Keylor Navas has been the starter throughout the preseason, but new arrival Kiko Casilla has acquitted himself well when called upon. These men might be competing for the backup job as David De Gea looks like he will be coming to the team in a matter days or even by next week. Manchester United is looking to resolve the conflict as soon as possible to avoid embarrassing scenes during its home opener next week.

Prediction: Madrid wins 2-1.

Where to watch: The game will be broadcast on ESPN2 and will be available for live streaming the WatchESPN app at 12:15 EST.
