Former "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" star Kim Richards has been arrested for shoplifting from a Target store in California.

TMZ reports the 50-year-old Richards was taken into custody just after 4 p.m. on Sunday and found to be with items in her possession valued at over $600. She spent the night at the Van Nuys Police Department and reportedly has since been released on $5,000 bail.

Richards was recently fired from "Real Housewives" after several public meltdowns and amid swirling rumors that she had an out-of-control problem with alcohol. She sat down with Entertainment Tonight last month to talk about her issues.

"I love sobriety," she said. "I've always loved sobriety and relapsing was very hard for me. It was not easy. I have to say, don't take this wrong, but I really wanted to go to treatment because I needed a break from what I was going through at home."

Among the troubles beating down on her, Richards cited both her husband and son's illnesses, as well as the fact she lost her dog and wasn't talking to sister and onetime "Real Housewives" co-star Kyle Richards.

Richards told interviewers she had completed her treatment program and had been sober for more than a month.

"I dug deep into my past -- things that happened to me as a child, good and bad, teenage years, relationships with all my loved ones, where they need to be mended, where they're very powerful," she said. "I worked on me."

Prior to her most recent troubles, Richards was arrested back on April 16 at the Beverly Hills Hotel on public intoxication charges. Soon after that, she entered a rehab facility.

"My arrest was my 'a-ha I get to go away now and rest and take a break from all this,'" she said.
