Léa Seydoux may have scored another franchise film in the upcoming "Gambit."

According to a report from TheWrap, Seydoux is currently screen testing for an unidentified role in the new superhero film. While there is no indication on whether she would be nearing a deal, Seydoux may have a bit of an edge over other actors, as the filmmakers are searching for a French-speaking actor.

Seydoux could be playing either Vera or Nonna, the roles showcased on the character descriptions that were revealed a couple of weeks ago.

Seydoux recently wrapped work on "Spectre," the new James Bond film, which is slated for this November. The actress has risen to prominence ever since her work in "Blue Is the Warmest Color," which won the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival. Seydoux also won the Palme and was nominated for the Césars, which are the French equivalent to the Oscars. She has also starred in "Beauty and the Beast," "Saint Laurent," "The Grand Budapest Hotel" and "Midnight in Paris."

It was recently announced that Channing Tatum will officially play the lead role in the film. The actor went through a complicated casting that almost made him drop out. Earlier this year there were even rumors of Tatum making a surprise appearance in "X-Men: Apocalypse," but those rumors were quickly denied. The film has been in development for years and after a number of setbacks, it seems the movie is back on track.

"Gambit" will be directed by Ryan Wyatt, who is best known for "Rise of the Planet of the Apes" and who also directed "The Gambler." The film was written by Joshua Zetumer ("RoboCop") from a treatment by legendary X-Men comics scribe Chris Claremont.

The film is set to tell the origin story of Gambit and is slated to be released on Oct, 7, 2017.
