There's a new "Jurassic Park" film and it's called "Jurassic World". Awesome. The star of "The Lego Movie" and "Guardians of the Galaxy" Chris Pratt will be in it. Awesome.

But once the initial excitement triggered by seeing dinosaurs on the big screen again has settled, one could not help but ask the question, "Why?"

To be exact, "Why would they make another film about characters returning to an inhospitable island filled with carnivorous giants?" More or less, that question has been glaring in the minds of Jurassic fans ever since the release of the first three films. Over and over again the characters kept on coming back to the island knowing that the only thing waiting for them there is a gory death.

Being a fan of the franchise, Pratt has probably asked himself the same question. But the actor remains optimistic and confident about his latest project. In fact, he revealed to MTV that this matter is what enticed him to be part of the film.

He said, "What I liked about it was that it answers the question of 'Why would you do that?' How do you suspend disbelief to be like. 'Oh yes, let's make this mistake again? We haven't learned our lesson about dinosaurs, we should definitely live with them and see how that works out.' You know, after like three tries at it! They answer the question really well through the script. Colin did a great job of writing it, justifying it, and, kind of, in his own way, having fun with that. Anybody who goes in with that question will be really amused, that way I was, about how they answer that."

Although he didn't give out specific details as to how the movie will address that burning question, we'll just have to trust Pratt's knowledge about the development of the script.

As to his role, he said his character is a bit of a combination of Sam Neil's full-of-wonder Dr. Allan Grant and Jeff Goldblum's cynical Dr. Ian Malcolm.

Jurassic World is set for release on June 12, 2015. Pratt's leading lady in the film will be played by "Twilight" star Bryce Dallas Howard. It will be directed by Colin Trevorrow and produced by Steven Spielberg.
