News has been slow and steady regarding the highly anticipated DC show coming to The CW, "Legends of Tomorrow."

Given that it is a mid-season premiere show, they have been slow to release the details. But now, according to Variety, one of the main characters for the show has been cast. Namely, Hawkman.

Falk Hentschel has been tapped to play the role, which he will premiere on both "Arrow" and "The Flash" before he goes home to his flagship show "Legends" in the winter of 2016.

Fans may know Hentschel from his roles in films like "Transcendence," "White House Down," "Knight and Day" and CBS's "Reckless."

Hentschel will be playing the role of Carter Hall, who is the alter ego of Hawkman in the comics and on the series. His fate is a doomed love affair through the trials and tribulations of rebirth. He was originally an Egyptian Prince and his soul mate is Kendra Saunders (Ciara Renée), also known as Hawkgirl.

Both have the ability to possess remarkable powers by channeling the Hawk God Horus. They both share the same curse of rebirth, but they do so together and their story is that of a doomed love affair because they cannot seem to find the peace they long for.

Renée has already donned the suit and character in Season 1 of "The Flash." Other characters of "Legends" have also appeared in both "Arrow" and "The Flash". These characters include Firestorm, Dr. Martin Stein (Victor Garber), Ray Palmer/the Atom (Brandon Routh), Sara Lance/White Canary (Caity Lotz), Mick Rory/Heat Wave (Dominic Purcell) and Leonard Snart/Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller).

The show is not premiering until midseason next year so that certain characters can make their guest arcs on the original DC shows before they come onto "Legends." These shows will feature crossover events in the fall to establish the new characters identities ahead of the "Legends" premiere.
