The long awaited third installment of Ice Cube's "Barbershop" franchise will arrive on April 15 of next year and go head-to-head with another film by the same director, according to an article on Deadline.

The highly successful "Barbershop" comedy franchise has gathered quite a cult following over the years with audiences of all different creeds and colors.

The third installment will be directed by Malcolm D. Lee, who is also directing the film "Best Man's Wedding." Both films are scheduled to premiere on April 15 next year, officially kicking off the start of the summer blockbuster season.

Producer Ice Cube has starred in the previous two films and will be back to reprise his role as Calvin Palmer.

In the original "Barbershop," Palmer had inherited the barbershop from his father, and the proud barbering tradition continued through him and his son.

Although the barbershop successfully navigated away from the treacherous waters of a franchise shop in the last film, the gang will be back with some new comedy and situations to deal with in the upcoming film.

Deadline reports that Cube will be joined by some returning cast members as well as some new faces. The cast includes Cedric the Entertainer, Queen Latifah, Nicki Minaj, Keke Palmer, Eve, Anthony Anderson, Common, Tia Mowry, Lamorne Morris, Deon Cole, Auntie Fee, Marcia Wright and Regina Hall.

Hall, along with Lee, will also have stake in the other film "Best Man's Wedding," playing a role on that film as well.

There will be an official 16-year hiatus between the franchise's films, with "Barbershop 2" having been released way back in 2004.

Cube, Bob Teitel and George Tillman Jr. have been brought in as producers for the film and Kenya Barris along with Tracy Oliver have been delegated to pen the script.

The film was originally slated to premiere on Feb. 26.
