Season 3 of "The 100" on the CW network is going to show you firsthand what it looks like when you add a "Desperate Housewife" to the cast of a teen show. According to Entertainment Weekly, that is the big news that has been breaking lately in regards to the casting of the Ice Queen for next season on the popular show.

Brenda Strong, who is perhaps best known for her roles on "Desperate Housewives" and the reboot series of "Dallas" on TNT, has been cast in the role of the Ice Queen for season 3 of "The 100."

For those who do not know, the Ice Nation was briefly mentioned throughout last season of the show, and there were also some representatives from the frozen nation who came to the gathering of Grounder Clans in Tondc.

Season 3 will see the emergence of the Ice Nation on the show, and Strong's character will be their fearless and ruthless leader.

In a character description for her role, she was described as someone who is "holding onto power through ruthlessness and savvy."

"She does what she must to maintain her power, even when it puts her at odds with those closest to her," the description on EW added.

The Wrap reports that her character name will be Nia, and she was often referenced last season, but never seen. She has already been immortalized on the show as a ruthless character and even struck fear in the hearts of the people on the show, without the audience ever actually having met her.

Season 3 will be bringing her legendary visage to life when Strong portrays the already well-known Nia, and the season will thrive on the many twists and turns that her clan will bring to Clarke, Lexa and Bellamy.

Although season 3 does not debut until the winter of 2016, the hype has been reaching critical mass for the show.
