Two movies dominated the recent BAFTAs by taking home majority of the awards, Gravity and 12 Years A Slave. However, another issue led to the bashings of most netizens, whether Jennifer Lawrence really deserved winning the Best Supporting Actress award for American Hustle instead of Lupita Nyong'O for 12 Years a Slave.

For those who have not seen the two movies, the Kenyan-Mexican actress Lupita played the role of a brutally tortured slave that made her become the first choice of many to bring home the bacon for the said category, Yahoo UK movie stated. However, the British Academy still decided to give the honor instead to the Hunger Games star Jennifer Lawrence who played a crazy housewife for American Hustle.

It cannot be denied how Jennifer was able to portray her Rosalyn Rosenfeld role perfectly with a touch of superb humor. However, several critics saw her performance as some kind of an extended cameo.

Outrage over Twitter

The BAFTA's decision for the mentioned category led to a lot of netizens voice out their views about their personal choice for the trophy. Here are some of the tweets that stood out about the issue:

Director David O. Russell Representing Jennifer Lawrence Upon announcement of the Best Supporting Actress award, it was American Hustle director David O. Russell who walked up the stage and claimed the trophy for Jennifer. This is the second awards event for the season that the young actress missed due to her busy schedules on filming for two movies, the final installment of the Hunger Games movies and X-Men: Days of Future Past.
