For all the potential angles the show has to take for next season, "Hawaii Five-0" is finally adding a love interest for Chin (Daniel Dae Kim) on the series. This is not just any love interest though, but the beautiful Julie Benz, who famously played the wife of Dexter Morgan on the Showtime serial killer show.

Benz has had many acting credits to her name for both TV and film. She recently did the sequel film "The Boondock Saints 2: All Saints Day" and has also starred on the teen hit from earlier in the millennium, "Buffy the Vampire Slayer."

This time, according to Entertainment Weekly, she will be giving Chin a bit of the old love bug. Her character will be meeting up with Chin when she heads up a task force that is modeled after the Five-0 unit. She comes from San Francisco, and is a detective who seems to be elevating her game in the fictional universe. Can anyone say spinoff? "S.F. 5-0."

The sparks immediately fly when Chin and Benz meet on screen, and the romance proves to have some real potential for the character, who has mostly been sidelined by love on the show.

There has not been any official confirmations as to how many episodes the actress will be appearing in for season 6, but her recurring status has put her in for at least three.

Benz has shown incredible talent with her performances on both "Dexter" and "The Boondock Saints."

Playing the wife of a sociopathic serial killer, all the while being oblivious to who he really is, turned out to be more fatal for the character than most expected. That, of course, led to her end on the show. But now that fans have seen her quirky and bad*ss side, she is sure to shine opposite Kim on season 6 of "Hawaii Five-0."

The show returns on Sept. 25 at 9 p.m. EDT on CBS.
