Shane Mosley and Ricardo Mayorga will collide again in a rematch on Saturday at the Forum in Inglewood, California.

Mosley and Mayorga engaged in a brutal showdown in September 2008 in Carson, where Mosley scored a dramatic knockout victory during the 12th round of the bout.

Fight fans should expect another action-packed showdown between the two veteran boxers. Mosley and Mayorga have been trading barbs on social media over the past several months.

Aside from their Twitter war, which was viewed as the main reason why promoters arranged the rematch, the two boxers also engaged in scuffles in press conferences.

Mosley, who holds a 47-9-1 record with 39 knockout victories, has not fought since taking a seventh-round knockout loss to Anthony Mundine in November 2013 in Sydney, Australia. The loss to Mundine also came after he took lopsided defeats to boxing superstars Saul Alvarez, Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr.

According to Mosley, he decided to return because he does not want to end his career with a defeat, expressing confidence that he will be able to prove his doubters wrong on Saturday.

"I don't want to go out on that note," Mosley told Los Angeles Times. "I want to come back with a knockout to show I'm at the top of my game. Remember when George Foreman came back and heard all that about he was too old? He won a world title."

On the other hand, Mayorga is also confident of his chances against Mosley in their rematch on Saturday.

Mayorga, who holds 31-8-1 record with 25 knockout wins, previously declared that he will avenge his defeat to Mosley during their first showdown in a convincing manner.

The 41-year-old Nicaraguan, who is coming off knockout victories against Allen Medina and Andrik Saralegui last year, said that he will knock Mosley out in the first round of their bout.

"I will knock him out in the first round," Mayorga said via BoxingScene. "I don't want people after the fight saying that he was already beat up or that it was luck. I'm telling you I will knockout him out in the first round. It will be worth it to buy the fight. I am going to put him in a coma."
