AMC has thought of a new creative way to connect the two mega hit series "The Walking Dead" and its spinoff "Fear The Walking Dead." The connection is basically going to take place in a standalone episode during the upcoming fall season, but will be broken up for viewers to experience it, according to Entertainment Weekly.

"Zombies on a Plane" will be the theme for this standalone content that will air during "The Walking Dead's" sixth season. These little mini-episodes will be appearing during the actual episodes for the show, but they will air during commercial breaks, and total a half-hour special, which will eventually introduce a new character, who will be featured on season 2 of companion series "Fear The Walking Dead."

The basic premise behind this is to introduce the character who will eventually be playing a role in season 2 of "Fear," just within the "TWD" shows. The special content will feature the outbreak on a plane, which takes place during the "Fear" timeline, and there is limited information as to who will survive the flight.

It is presumably heading to LAX in Los Angeles, given that is where "Fear" takes place. But the standalone special does not give any specific details about it yet. All fans know is that it will be airing during commercial breaks of "TWD" episodes and will bring them up to date on what's coming on the companion show - at least in regards to a specific backstory.

This is not the firs time the "Zombies on a Plane" theme, which plays off the Samuel L. Jackson film "Snakes on a Plane," has happened in popular fiction. The scenario played out in the Brad Pitt film "World War Z" and also in a 2007 movie, "Flight of the Living Dead." Both featured a seemingly doomed plane at 3,000 feet with no other options but to fight or hide from the monsters.
