The immense popularity of the hit FX horror anthology "American Horror Story" has led creator Ryan Murphy and the network to heavily consider doing a two season pair next year, obviously trying to keep on pace with hit horror franchise "The Walking Dead" on AMC, according to Entertainment Weekly.

Horror series, especially on cable, have had the biggest draw for audiences in the past few years, and "AHS" has kept up with "TWD" in terms of a massive cult-following.

AMC just recently launched the companion show "Fear The Walking Dead" on their network, and the basic idea of that spinoff is to have a "Walking Dead" show going year round.

"AHS" creator Ryan Murphy seems to be hip to the same idea, and now he is considering putting out two season of the show a year, which would mean one would be the fall show and the other would be the spring show.

But nothing has been set in stone yet, considering the next installment with Lady Gaga at the helm for the series is still about to premiere on the FX network just in time for Halloween.

Season 5, which is titled "Hotel," is expected to outdo its predecessor "Freak Show." That season brought in the highest ratings to date for FX, and all the hype around Gaga's murderous headlining role on "Hotel" has brought fans in from all new generations, eager to see a glimpse of the Fame Monster.

But in regards to expanding the season counts, Murphy is definitely on board.

"Next year we might do a fall 'American Horror Story' and a spring," Murphy told EW. "We have to decide."

The idea will also bring in some interesting new material for the series as well.

"We're doing something that we've never done before on the show where we're doing two different groups of writers rooms," Murphy said. "Some of our writers will be bouncing around but a whole different group coming in late August. The next thing we're crafting up is very, very different than this. Not smaller. But just not opulent. More rogue and more dark."
